I was a big fan of NieR Automata when that came out in 2017. One of the things that struck me about the series is it's excellent and diverse soundtrack. NieR Replicant follows the trend and it was hard picking out a single track to cover.

This cover is split into 2 halves. The first states the original theme. The 2nds half is an extension and variation on that theme:

First we get a "3-hands" texture where the melody is in the middle with accompaniment below and above to give the illusion of 3 distinct musical lines being played at the same time. Then the final part is a passionate version doubling the speed of the runs underneath the melody. This is a good workout/warm-up for the hands.

Technique wise, you'll need to comfortably be able to hit a 10th in the right hand to play this properly. Also the large leaps and fast passagework in the variations are tricky. Voicing is another important aspect of this piece. Making sure that the melody is phrased beautifully while everything else compliments the line without overpowering it. There is certainly room for improvement with this recording in that regards.
