Sweetwater celebrates 150 years in 2025! The 150th Celebration committee planned events, created commemorative merchandise and a historical
Photo book, and worked tirelessly to make 2025 a year to remember. They led the year off  with a candlelight service, followed by founders Day, including a historic walking tour, then a birthday party for our 100 year-old antique firetruck, a musical all about Sweetwater, the Sweetwater fair, a new mural depicting Sweetwater‘s history, commemorative coins, T-shirts, and mugs. Our parades featured a 150th float. We held a soapbox derby, created monthly videos by Larry Anderson, featuring moments in Sweetwater history, hosted the fairest of the fair pageant, the taste of Monroe by the Monroe County chamber, WoofStock by Sweetwater Main Street, and a fashion through the decade show.
Sweetwatrr high school students created day 150th bench and a beautiful mosaic piece. We commissioned a 150th quilt. The Sweetwater fair featured mini wonderful exhibits, contests musicians and an amazing drone show by Starstruck Drone Shows. This video is just a glimpse at the many things we’ve done in 2025 to celebrate 150 years of Sweetwater, Tennessee.
