Here is the replacement for that cracked hose, a cracked hose will allow extra air into the engine and that will trigger the ecm to add more fuel to make up for the difference but it becomes overwhelming since it is not a measured amount of air coming in thru the maf sensor and you actually end up with bad gas mileage or it seems the car is burning more fuel.
