Galta Ji is an ancient Hindu pilgrimage site near Jaipur, Rajasthan, known as the "Monkey Temple" due to its large population of monkeys. The complex is built from pink sandstone and features pavilions, shrines, natural springs, and seven sacred water tanks called kunds. The Galta Kund is the holiest of these tanks and is believed to have a never-drying spring.
Galtaji Temple was built in the 16th century by Diwan Rao Kriparam, an advisor to Jaipur ruler Sawai Jai Singh. This site is renowned for being the place of penance of the sage Galav.
Location: Situated in the Aravalli hills, about 10 km east of Jaipur.
