All new Hyundai i20 has just been launched in India with prices for the petrol versions starting at ₹6.80 lakh and the diesel version starting at ₹8.20 lakh.

(Ex-Showroom, New Delhi). It comes with four variants which splits into 24 versions

In terms of mechanicals, the third-gen Hyundai i20 is being offered with two petrol and one diesel engine options.

First is 1.2-litre kappa four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol which is good for 82bhp(MT) & 87bhp(iVT) and 115Nm of torque. It will come with the option of both a 5-speed manual and a IVT automatic gearbox.


Second is a 1.0-litre TGDI three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 118Bhp and 172Nm of torque. It will come with a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox and an iMT (clutch-less manual) gearbox.

Third one is 1.5-litre, four-cylinder U2 CRDi
diesel engine which produces 99bhp and 240nm of troque As of now, Hyundai only provides the engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox in the new i20 there is no automatic in diesel.

The ARAI claimed mileage for the 1.2-litre petrol engine is 20.35kpl with the manual gearbox and 19.65kpl with the iVT auto box, while the 1.0-litre turbo petrol returns 20.25kpl with the DCT gearbox and 20kpl with the iMT. The 1.5-litre diesel manual has a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 25.2kpl.
