In Thai, we don’t always use “ได้ (dâi)” to say we can or can’t do something.
Instead, we often use two-part verb phrases that sound super natural and are packed with emotion — perfect for real-life situations 💬
✅ In this video, you’ll learn:
นอนหลับ (nɔɔn làp) = Able to sleep
นอนไม่หลับ (nɔɔn mâi làp) = Can’t sleep
กินลง (gin long) = Able to eat
กินไม่ลง (gin mâi long) = Can’t eat
เปิดออก (bpə̀ət ɔ̀ɔk) = Able to open
เปิดไม่ออก (bpə̀ət mâi ɔ̀ɔk) = Can’t open
หายใจออก (hăai-jai ɔ̀ɔk) = Can breathe
หายใจไม่ออก (hăai-jai mâi ɔ̀ɔk) = Can’t breathe
ลืมลง (lʉʉm long) = Able to forget
ลืมไม่ลง (lʉʉm mâi long) = Can’t forget
💡 These phrases are so Thai — full of feeling, casual, and used all the time in real conversations. Once you know how they work, you’ll start to hear them everywhere!
