$6 for a box of cereal. $17 for coffee and a bagel. $51 for two Popeyes meals.
When did buying groceries become a luxury expense?
I'm watching viral videos of people losing their minds at the grocery store, and fast food restaurants and all I can think is: nobody in charge actually gives as f**c*.
Half the country has a take home $500-600 a week after taxes which doesn't cut it because, but everything costs twice what it used to.
And then there are the usual suspects blaming minimum wage workers for inflation.
Really?
The guy making $12 an hour flipping burgers is the problem? Not the CEO making $100 million a year?
Two things make fast food billionaires rich - they don't pay workers enough, and they charge customers too much.
People are angry because there's no light at the end of the tunnel. You can work 40 hours a week, do everything right, and still need food stamps to afford an $8 box of cereal.
Something's gotta give.
I should keep quite though because I'm 59 and unemployed and I might need that minimum wage job at Burger King everyone's complaining about.
