With the ICC’s preparations for the T20 World Cup 2026 gaining momentum, Bangladesh’s Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Nazrul issued a strong warning against any external pressure on the country’s participation. Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat, Nazrul said Bangladesh would not accept any “illogical or unreasonable” conditions if the International Cricket Council acts under the influence of the Indian Cricket Board. He made it clear that Bangladesh cannot be compelled to travel to India for the tournament under pressure, stressing that any decision regarding participation or logistics must be based on fairness, mutual consent and established ICC norms, not political or board-level influence.
