Final Qualifying Reality Check – Kilmarnock Barassie
This episode is part of my Open Qualifying journey. After making it through at Caldy and missing out at Hesketh, I earned my place at Final Qualifying here at Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club.
The format is simple: with my handicap of 18 adjusted to 25 by the England Golf Handicap Index, I needed to beat 93 to keep The Open dream alive. Barassie is a championship links, a true test that has hosted qualifying for The Open many times.
I’ll be honest — I wasn’t at my best here. Some shots have been cut because I just wasn’t proud of how I played 😓. But I still wanted to share this round, because the course itself is stunning and deserves to be showcased.
This one didn’t go my way, but I can’t wait to regroup and take on the Open Qualifying route again next year 💪🏼.
