Curious about “What to Expect” at the Institute for Parents of Preschool Children Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing?
The Institute is a free multi-day program for parents of children ages 6 and under who have hearing loss.
Institute participants can build community, access resources and find answers, all in one place.
During the Institute, participating parents and caregivers attend daily lectures by experts in the field to learn about raising a child with hearing loss.
The children attend classes with experienced teachers of students who are deaf or hard of hearing. They have the opportunity to receive a variety of evaluations and play with other children who have hearing loss.
Siblings can also attend the Institute. They enjoy day camp activities, practice American Sign Language (ASL), and learn more about how to best communicate with their siblings.
This video features Institute Director Angela Kuhn. Find out why the Institute is her “favorite week of the year” in this Institute overview.
We're proud to be one of the sponsors of this incredible program.
