Microtonal Ambient Music - Fluid Just Intonation #2

This music uses just intonation in combination with microtonal inflections and gradual shifts achieved with selectively bending the pitch of some or all notes. I used some of the techniques I experimented with in my first project like this, such as gradually bending thirds, sixths, and sevenths from major to minor to seamlessly modulate, and I also experimented with beating effects achieved by having notes drift in and out of unison. The effect is quite pronounced with sine waves and can produce quite rhythmical effects, especially in the sub-bass range.

I used the same simple 12-note just intonation tuning system that I came up with for my first fluid just intonation project. It works well with the keys I planned to use, mostly B and C and is constructed by generating a just intonation major scale those two notes.

I used the free microtonal virtual instrument Xenharmonic FMTS by Jacky Ligon, and the metallic tinkling sound is an aluminium coil gong I made.
