Enjoy a close up look at this iconic Douglas DC-3 (C-47) as it makes a base turn for a visual approach to Runway 27 at Flint's Bishop Airport (FNT). The aircraft was in the Flint area conducting approach and landing practice.
This historic aircraft, nicknamed "Hairless Joe", was built in 1944 as a Douglas C-47 SkyTrain and was used by the US Air Force. It is currently owned and operated by the Yankee Air Force and is based at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, Michigan (YIP). Willow Run is located about 10 miles west of Detroit Metro Airport (DTW).
