HoMi Forged At The Anvil

Hi, I'm Andy and welcome to FORGE WRIGHT.

This video is one I've been wanting to make for quite some time and only just got the time and courage to attempt. It shows the forging of a traditional Korean gardening tool called a HoMi.

These tools have been used in Korea for thousands of years and are incredibly useful for home gardeners as an all round digging, weeding, scrapping and planting tool and this is my take on what I am led to believe is a Joseon HoMi.

I want to thank both Gurvinder (One of my subscribers) for directing me to a Korean Blacksmith making these tools (Blacksmith Jang) and Jang himself for helping me identify what stock to use as well as posting his video where he makes this style of HoMi.

As I say in my video I dont claim this to be a traditional Korean Joseon HoMi as I did not have the exact dimensions of Jang's tool, but it is as close as I can get from viewing Jang's video.
