Intro
Lo! Hear ye now, in shadowed hall,
A tale of crown, of war’s grim call.
The maiden-queen, with helm of light,
Doth summon steel for honor’s fight.
Vers 1
Upon the field where dusk doth creep,
Her banners wake from silent sleep.
She lifts her voice, so clear, so high:
“Let none be faint, nor fear to die.”
Choir 1
Hail the Queen, so fair, so bold!
Her wrath is fire, her heart is gold.
Ride, ye riders, swift as wind,
For doom and glory now are twinned!
Vers 2
To bowmen keen she speaketh thus:
“Rain shafts of death, let none discuss.
Darken the sky with feathered sting,
And break the foe ere swords do sing.”
Choir 2
Hail the Queen, so fair, so bold!
Her wrath is fire, her heart is gold.
Ride, ye riders, swift as wind,
For doom and glory now are twinned!
Vers 3
To knights of steel she crieth loud:
“Stand firm as oak, be battle-proud.
When clash of blade shall rend the air,
Let none retreat, nor yield despair.”
Choir 3
Hail the Queen, so fair, so bold!
Her wrath is fire, her heart is gold.
Ride, ye riders, swift as wind,
For doom and glory now are twinned!
Vers 4
Yet in the court a jester sighs,
With love that in his bosom lies.
She bids him stay, yet fate is sly—
He dons the helm, his bells awry.
Choir 4
Hail the Queen, so fair, so bold!
Her wrath is fire, her heart is gold.
Ride, ye riders, swift as wind,
For doom and glory now are twinned!
Verse 5
Anon the knight his shield upraised,
The shaft did pierce, yet undismayed.
He bled, yet kept the Queen from bane—
His helm rang soft with jester’s bell.
Choir 5
Hail the Queen, so fair, so bold!
Her wrath is fire, her heart is gold.
Ride, ye riders, swift as wind,
For doom and glory now are twinned!
Bridge
When thunder roared and blood was spilled,
The Queen was cast where earth lay chilled.
Anon a hand, with bells that sing,
Did bear her forth from death’s dark ring.
Outro – Vers 1
Now feast is spread in hall of might,
The knights are crowned in glory’s light.
Yet minstrel’s song, with secret gleam,
Doth hide the bandaged hand in theme.
Outro – Vers 2
He sings of steel and valor bright,
A jester’s sword now glints in night.
For though she knows not what befell,
In war of dreams resounds a jester’s bell.
