In today’s episode, we sit down with Dr. Dean St Mart. Dean holds a Double 1st Class Honours degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the National University of Ireland Maynooth and holds a Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry and Fluorescence Spectroscopy.
From Dean’s background of pharmaceutical design and then eventual move into functional medicine and health, we talk about the two most freely given out medications these days - statins for high cholesterol and medication for blood pressure - components of metabolic disease causes primarily by our lifestyle.
We look at in what situation these medications can be helpful and in what situations should be instead swap the pill for a lifestyle change.
