When cleaning the Ruger Mark IV 22/45, it's possible to move the hammer into the forward (uncocked) position. When trying to reassemble the firearm, the uncocked hammer (a small chunk of metal) will prevent pushing the barrel assembly back into position. If you haven't seen it before, you'll likely be surprised and frustrated.
This short video puts the disassembled gun into the state described above, then shows a very simple process (or "trick") for cocking the hammer, so that reassembly is easy.
Note: the Ruger Mark IV 22/45 is a wonderful firearm in all regards, at an attractive price. It's field strip is amazingly easy.
