May 30, 2020. 42 years old. Diagnosed with LGMD2A in 1995, age 17.
Walking and balance have changed since 2019. I’m noticing I waddle a bit more than years past. Walking to slow can make you fall so be mindful when walking. I still walk on the sides of my feet which is not a stable way to walk. When I turn around, I notice it’s rigid and I have to be careful not to lose my balance. The lower back has slight pain from time to time due to the belly pushing forward. I also use my hands to help me walk by pulling on my pant pockets. This is new and I don’t understand why I do this. It just happened and not something I implemented. Maybe it’s a “feel safer” way to walk that my body did without my input. Who knows.
Be sure to walk as long as you can and safely too.
