Welcome back to our rock tumbling journey! In today's video, we are diving into the exciting results of Stage 2 of tumbling Mexican Crazy Lace Agate and Mixed Quartz. If you have been following along, you know that rock tumbling is a fascinating process that transforms rough stones into beautiful, polished gems. In this video, we'll show you the progress our stones have made in Stage 2.
we are tumbling a mix of Mexican Crazy Lace Agate and various Quartz stones. These stones are known for their intricate patterns and stunning colors, making them perfect for creating eye-catching polished pieces.
Stage 2 of the rock tumbling process involves the medium grind. This stage is crucial for smoothing out the rough edges left from the coarse grind in Stage 1. We used a 220-grit silicon carbide abrasive to further refine the surface of our stones. This step helps to reveal more of the stone's natural beauty by removing any remaining blemishes and preparing them for the fine grind in Stage 3.
After running our tumbler for about a week, we are excited to show you the progress. The Mexican Crazy Lace Agate has started to reveal its unique banding patterns, with swirling colors of red, white, and gray becoming more pronounced. The Mixed Quartz stones have also undergone a significant transformation, with clearer surfaces and more visible inclusions.
