2027 Ferrari 849 Testarossa is a Quasi-Electric PHEV Supercar

Ferrari is bringing back a legendary name for its newest supercar, but the technology is anything but retro. Replacing the SF90 Stradale, the 849 Testarossa is a plug-in hybrid with a mid-mounted, twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine. This V-8 has new cylinder heads, a redesigned intake, lighter camshafts, and larger turbos, bumping its output to 819 hp and 621 lb-ft of torque—a 50-hp increase over the SF90. With two front-mounted electric motors and a third motor in the eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle, total output climbs to a staggering 1,036 horsepower. Ferrari claims it can hit 62 mph in under 2.3 seconds.

The 849 Testarossa can also be driven on electric power alone for up to 16 miles at speeds up to 81 mph, thanks to its 7.45-kWh lithium-ion battery. Tire options include Pirelli P Zero R, Bridgestone Potenza Sport, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 and Cup 2 R, with staggered sizes of 265/35ZR-20 in the front and 325/30ZR-20 in the rear.

The coupe starts at 460,000 euros in Italy, and the Spider at 500,000 euros, so expect the U.S. price to be well over $500,000. Deliveries for the coupe are slated for mid-2026, with the Spider arriving in the third quarter of the same year.
