Have you ever wondered how you can travel to present your research for free? Travel grants are a great tool for that.
I was about to do a typical conference travel vlog from my latest conference in Oslo but then I realised that a few students know about how to apply for travel grants and - more importantly - get them.
I have a few suggestions of where you can find travel grant opportunities, but feel free to do your own research!
1. Institute Neurosciences Cognition are giving travel grants: https://inc.parisdescartes.fr/fr/bour...
2. National French (150 €) or international (300 €) travel grants for conferences related to Psychophysiology and cognitive neuroscience from La Société de Psychophysiologie et de Neurosciences Cognitives: https://spnc.fr/soutien/
3. National French (200 €) or international (400 €) travel grants for conferences or seminars if your work is related to speech, L’Association Francophone de la Communication Parlée: https://www.afcp-parole.org/informati...
4. Up to £500 can be compensated if you are travelling to or from UK and work on topics related to Experimental Psychology society: https://eps.ac.uk/grindley-grant/
5. FENS Travel Grant - up to 750 euros to attend the upcoming conference - https://www.fens.org/careers/grants-a...
6. €500 to attend ESCoP Cognitive psychology conference: https://www.escop.eu/awards-en-fundin...
7. Plenty of travel awards from the Society for the Neurobiology of Language: https://2025.neurolang.org/travel-awa...
I'm Olesia, a third-year PhD student based in Paris working in human neuroscience. I am trying to make use of my experience - you are welcome to join!
And now - get a cup of tea and let's dive into it! ✨
