Moving Right Along - Season 3, Episode 4 | Intrusive Thoughts

This is probably my favorite episode of the last few seasons of the series...I really hope you all enjoy watching it. Perhaps you'll identify with the challenges of intrusive thoughts and PTSD...and how to work through that all.

The thing is, I know that if I keep putting in the work, even on the hard days, I will get back to feeling myself. I will work through this process. But you have to start somewhere and, for me, returning to racing this season is...it's just a start. It's working through things that I never imagined we'd be dealing with at this point in the season. And then coming back in the middle of the season.

Skiing, for me, it's like it's the peaceful moment in the rest of life, which feels so chaotic and oftentimes really out of control and skiing is like the place where I feel sane. And then, during this recovery, it became the place that I felt the most insane. That was just so confusing to take on. And then to put it into the context of returning to racing during World Championships, when everybody else is presumably at their peak, at their best form. And I just feel like, I'm crawling along.

One beautiful thing that did come out of a pretty hard decision to table GS for World Championships was reopening the possibility to race the Team Combined. When we checked in with the coaches again about whether the team combined was still possible, after I had already announced that I wasn't going to be doing it. Seemed like the opportunity was there, the possibility was there, and our coaches said that Breezy would be my pairing if that was the case.

That medal with Breezy tops the list of the most special days I've had on the mountain. It was incredible. And 100...it was special for so many reasons. Thank each and every one of you for your support with our MIK100 campaign and for helping me to bring the joy of the sport to so many children who wouldn't otherwise experience it.
