Hidden deep in the forests of northern Sweden lies a forgotten piece of military history. This abandoned bunker, built in 1940, was part of the Kalix Line (Kalixlinjen) – a line of defense constructed during World War II to protect Sweden’s northern border.
The Kalix Line stretched across Norrland and included fortifications, bunkers, and artillery positions, prepared in case of an invasion. Today, nature is slowly reclaiming this once-strategic structure, leaving behind eerie silence and echoes of a tense past.
