Before we learn about the usefulness of how we look at the ephemeris parameters we need to get more familiar with orbital parameters in general. So the first thing we will learn is the ECEF: Earth Centered Earth Fixed Coordinate System. A coordinate system we used GPS satellites. It is a geocentric coordinate system in cartesian (3-D) coordinate system (x, y, z) with the origin at the Earth’s center of mass and rotates with the Earth’s rotation.
