Originally from South America, Passion fruit, known for its exotic allure and intense taste, is starting to catch on in the United States.
The tropical fruit is native to the regions that stretch from southern Brazil through Paraguay to northern Argentina. In the U.S., its cultivation is gaining momentum due to various factors.
We visited Brokaw Ranches in Los Angeles, California, where they have been growing passion fruit for the past few years. These ranches mostly produce Avocados and other fruits. Passion fruit cultivation is relatively recent as it helps farmers diversify their production.
