Antalya is a Turkish resort city and one of the largest cities (urban populations approximately 1.5 million) in Türkiye. It is recognized as the "capital of tourism" in Türkiye and gateway to Turkey's southern Mediterranean region, the Turkish Riveria known as the Turquoise Coast for its blue waters. Antalya sits on Anatolia’s southwest coast, flanked by the Taurus Mountains.
Remnants remain from Antalya's time as a major Roman port, including Hadrian’s Gate, built to honor the Roman emperor’s visit in 130 A.D and 2nd-century Hidirlik Tower, with harbor views.
Small boats take tourists along the coast to the Lower Düden Waterfall where the Düden River drops 40 meters (131 ft) into the Mediterranean Sea.
