HINSON UPLOAD JUMPSCARE
We attempted to build an Automatic Moving Robot Trash Can that uses a YOLOv8 model to track a piece of trash, and moves the robot to catch it before it lands.
This is for the second year of 'VS Hacks' (pronounced 'V Shacks'), an (apparently) yearly hackathon for students in Vancouver. We were only given three days to build something crazy, and so our idea was quite massive in scale in comparison to the time we had (oh, also we still had school too). We ended up not being able to combine the tracking algorithm and the robot, a sort of short lived integration hell I guess, but hopefully one day I'll be able to upload a part 2 going much deeper into the creation and finalization of the project!
