[Recorded 5-4-18] This is a tour of the very confusing elevators at The Sage in Gateshead. All of the lifts are branded as Northern Elevator and have Dewhurst US85 fixtures, but the floor numbering used and the layout of the buttons on the first two lifts is very very strange. I reckon that there is probably a reason behind the floor numbering but as for the button layout, I don't understand why the buttons have been layed out so that they don't go lowest to highest floor starting at the bottom left working up to the top right going from left to right along each row (or in other words, the standard elevator floor button layout). Anyway, these lifts are interesting because of this. Unfortunately, the doors on a couple of them were not in the best condition. The building itself looks stunning and you actually wouldn't think it had quite as many as 8 floors, although I think that B and A were half-distance above 2 and 3 respectively.
Is this a good format for my lift tours? Feedback in the comments please!
