Instead of taking pride in their ancestors and their shared heritage, there was a growing tendency to distance themselves from it.
The practice of self-worship and the effort to awaken the soul diminished. Noble principles began to seem discardable, the allure of humanity faded, individualistic behavior increased, and a selfless way of life started to disappear. The sole reason for this decline was self-forgetfulness, an amnesia regarding one's true spiritual essence and roots.
