Sam3 is a visual artist from Spain, known for his silhouette and shadow style. He has produced murals, sporadic graffiti, installations and animations. He currently lives and works in Athens.

A note by the video's creators:
The brothers Lysandros and Orestis, founders of the group, were looking for a way to embed The Rider's musical journey into an attractive and playful image of Athens.They wanted to show something that was both traditional and representative of the contemporary Greek culture and everyday life.Following that line, we decided to use Karagiozis, the main character of the homonymous traditional Greek shadow theatre.“Karagiozis” is a cultural element that is known to everyone in Greece.Generations of children have enjoyed his adventures, and the character himself has a highly symbolic value.He is a survivor, prone to tricks of all kinds, trying to find his way among the hardest of circumstances, always poor and in search of some food or money.After doing some research we visited the Spatharis Museum in Athens, and met with professional puppet-players.We decided to design different characters (Karagiozis, his son Kollytiri, their donkey, and the girl Karagiozis is after) on cardboard and to project their shadows on walls around Athens, creating stop-motion sequences.At first, not everyone understood what we were doing, but a big smile eventually shone on their faces when they recognised the characters.Our collaboration with Imam Baildi was an amazing experience, and we hope that watching this video will open your hearts to the adventures of The Rider and to the amazing city of Athens, many parts of which are not that well known.
