This is a demo of some sounds from my DS-8, a digital 4 OPs FM synth, manufactured in the mid 80s (1987) by Korg. Approximately, 90% of sounds are my own programming patches and rest of them are factory presets (I think).
Sorry for my horrible playing, I´m not keyboardist and I don´t practice as much as I´d like.
This is a rare but very interesting digital vintage 8 voices FM synth. It uses the same Yamaha´s 4 operators chip (YM2164), used in some Yamaha´s DX synths like DX21, DX27, DX100 or FB-01.
It has a very sturdy construction and a very good keyboard, one of the best I´ve tested.
It can produce some very nice pads, percussive, expressive and cutting FM sounds. It has a vintage and warmth digital sounding, and a very useful internal FX processor.
No external effects used, just the pure synth sounding and internal effects. Recorded directly from the DS-8 stereo outputs through a Behringer UMC-204 interface.
