I wanted to revive an old series I used to share where I take a deep dive to learn about famous photographers and what they could "teach me". In this video, I cover a very well known Asian Photographer, Fan Ho, who was semi controversial as well. Fan Ho was known for capturing the growth and start of Hong Kong in the 1950's and 1960's, He was a master of natural light, also shaping his vision shooting into harsh light, shadows, etc... But the surrounding controversy involved him having staged photos at times or not. I respect that he wasnt a "pure" photographer and really respect his line of work, his vision. Should we care if his work at times was staged or not? Even if it isnt, does it make it even better that a photo is shot so well, calls into question that above. Fan Ho is a legend.
