When writing music, where do you tend to start? When it comes to beat making, it's probably safe to assume that most people start with drums & perscussion.

In this video, I explore an exercise I've been implementing where I start of with an ambient sequence, something maybe minimally rhythmic, and then add percussion on top of that. It's fun because without a beat behind the initial music, there is a lack on context. Adding in the drums afterwards creates a very distinct feeling, and can re-contextualize the atmosphere you've created.
