Antique & Vintage Shopping Surprises at Big Antique Mall!

This place is so different than I expected! It's my first time at Marketplace 3301 in Billings, Montana, where vignettes of general store items, kitchen collections, frou-frou linens & porcelain, even militaria and medical oddities are on tap.

Surprises unfold as we go through this two-story antique collective that fills a 1920s Chevy dealership with so many wonderful things! A Scout drum over a drum table, domes filled with doll heads and butterflies, walls festooned with silver plate trays as decor and chains of hanging vessels are among the different approaches to antique and vintage decor we see here. It's Montana, so there's plenty of true antiques ranging from old scales and oak furniture to station trolleys and apothecary chests...but that's only the half of it!

We also are delighted to find really cool 1950s modernism, a 1970s space that really looks like the era and specialists in pottery, art and more fun MCM pieces. We pick up a deal on a Blenko ewer, contemplate a really cool straw-stuffed ottoman and reflect on Montana's unique contribution to studio ceramics, a story people outside the industry may never have heard. What a fun and varied mall! We'll be back here again on our trips through the Big Sky Country.
