Work begins on prepping the 1937 Talbot's engine for a "will it start?" attempt. In this vid, I work my way around this "barn find" pre-war car's engine, checking for oil pressure and giving it a fresh sump of straight 30 monograde lubricant. The 1930s ignition system is given a once-over in a bid to get a spark (it hasn't run since the mid-1970s), while various ancillaries are checked and lubricated. The ancient Zenith carburettor is also looked at in greater detail before being removed for a clean and check-over. Also don't miss the bonus, vintage oil can, footage near the end!!
Hopefully soon I'll be able to attempt an engine start. If this kind of classic car content is of interest, please Like this vid and Subscribe to the channel. I'd also love to read your comments about not just the Talbot, but anything that you're working on right now in your garage/shed/driveway etc.

This isn't a classic car restoration video, just a walk-through of me - a rank amateur when it comes to spannering - tinkering with a much-loved old car in my garage, a classic car vlog. None of what features in this vid should be taken as advice, nor should it be taken as recommended ways of doing things. It's for interest only. Don't try any of this on your classic or vintage car without first reading up on the subject properly, in workshop manuals etc.
Thanks for watching.
