Despite challenges posed by heavy rainfall earlier this year, significant progress has been made along the entire section of the Kasomeno-Mwenda Toll Road (KMTR) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Construction is well underway, with contractors fully mobilised and work progressing across multiple fronts. In addition to the emergency works that were conducted to improve the 43 km road section from Kasomeno to Kasenga as a result of heavy rainfall that caused the road to deteriorate, the key activities include bush clearing, roadbed preparation, and the removal of unsuitable materials with rock-fill, laying a solid foundation for the road ahead.
