Presentation of the project FROM - Reducing car journeys through ridesharing for parents.
The project was created by students in Openlab's master’s course based on a challenge from Miljöförvaltningen (Environment and Health Department), Stockholms stad, about enabling more leisure journeys without private cars.
The team redefined the challenge intro "How might we satisfy today’s modern mobility needs, while also reducing Stockholm City’s overall carbon emissions, within a fixed public transportation structure?".
The solution suggested by the student team is the FROM app, tailored for parents of children involved in sports, providing a ride-sharing platform to ease their transportation needs and reduce stress. This platform allows parents to connect with other parents or drivers to share rides, ensuring timely transportation to and from sports venues while minimizing the use of private cars.
