I know Bartholomew is on the PUP. Every practice he misses makes him less likely to be impactful this pre season....
I expect Howell to stand out. He led the NFL in pass attempts in 2023 and threw for nearly 4,000 yds with the Washington Commanders. A guy with that experience playing against backups should stand out; but there is more to it...
Howell strength is attacking the middle of the field, and much like Brock Purdy, he can be cold blooded in between the hashmarks. That is where the tight ends live. In this episode I use coach's film to demonstrate how the strengths of Sam Howell dovetail so nicely with the skills of two of our young tight ends. If fact, some of Howell's plays are nearly identical to what Bartholomew and Yurosek did so well in college. For those reasons I would not be surprised of all three have a shot at pre season MVP.
