SKODA FABIA Cam Position Sensor 1.9 ATD (MK1 99-07)

In this video I show you how I removed, refit and cable tested the Camshaft Position Sensor G40 on a Skoda Fabia MK1 1.9 TDI ATD engine (99-07) which is similar to other VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda models

Unplug connection
Switch on ignition
1.9L 3-pin plug connection on the wiring loom, contact Specified value
1 + earth approx. battery voltage
3 + battery pos. term. approx. battery voltage

G163
Unplug conection
Switch on ignition
1.0L and 1.4L 3-pin plug connection on the wiring loom, contact Specified value
1 + earth approx. 5 V
2 + earth approx. 5 V
3 + battery pos. term. approx. battery voltage

1.2L and 2.0L 3-pin plug connection on the wiring loom, contact Specified value
1 + 3 approx. 4.5 V

If measured values show faults - Identify and rectify wiring to ECM

If measured values are good - suspect sensor and replace
