Metal Slug 2006 - Mission 1 (Normal, Marco, New Game)

Metal Slug 2006, otherwise known as Metal Slug 3D for the PlayStation 2, titled simply as "Metal Slug", is the series' first (and thankfully last) foray into 3D. If it isn't obvious enough already, this game is a load of garbage, and thankfully SNKP had the decency to keep this dumpster fire confined within Japan. The gameplay is horrendously difficult for all the wrong reasons, the graphics look like complete ass even by 2006 standards, the "plot" is a snooze fest, with cutscenes being exclusively characters standing around giving exposition dumps, and... this whole game just reeks of uninspired laziness.

This playthrough is done on a new save file, with no upgrades and all weapons OSP. Usually my playthroughs are done on the highest difficulties, but MS3D is so grating and boring that I don't want to put myself through Hard. Hard also gives some bosses new attacks that I legitimately have no idea how to dodge, and you take double damage on Hard. Maybe this doesn't seem like a big deal in Mission 1, but with later stages, I'll get hit a lot, even on Normal.

In spite of how much I dislike this game and how awful I am at it, I still want to showcase it with a playthrough complete with cutscenes, as I believe not many people, even fans of the Metal Slug series, know about this title. In other words, I'm playing this so you don't have to.
