Step by step demonstration on how to Don & Rig the T-11 Parachute for an ABO (Airborne Operation).
Quick fact: the only S-Fold required on the parachute harness is the Chest Strap. Everything else is rolled.
The Airborne Timeline at the Herd starts off 24H prior to the Jump. Which means no drinking in this 24H window.
Rundown of a jump at the Rock:
IMC: Paratroopers report to IMC (Initial Manifest Call) with their helmet (For JM inspection) and right uniform (PC & Subdued Flag).
They find out which Chalk they are assigned to.
A Chalk is a three digit number that designates your assigned aircraft (EX: Chalk 203 means you will be on 2nd lift, 3rd bird in formation)
At the end of IMC, Jumpers are given a location and time for FMC (Final Manifest Call).
FMC: Every Jumper and Jump Master Team report to FMC (usually the next day). Jump Masters will have their Jump Master Kit and Jumpers the equipment they're jumping
SAT (Sustained Airborne Training) involves rehearsing the jump. Jumpers will execute Pre-Jump, Parachute Landing Falls off of a platform, Mock Door Exits, SRJTE (Static Line Control, Red Light Procedure, Jump Refusal, Towed Jumper, Emergency Landings)
PAHA (Personnel Assembly Holding Area) also referred to as "the shed" is where all parachutes are laid out on benches ready for paratroopers to don & rig (this video).
JMPI (Jump Master Personnel Inspection) is where every Paratrooper is inspected by a Jump Master ensuring there are no deficiencies found on the Parachute Harness, Packtray, Rucksack and MAW-C (Modular Airborne Weapons Case)
