TRAVEL -- The name Bahamas is mostly likely derived from the Spanish baja mar (meaning “shallow sea”) reflecting the shallow waters of the area, which accounts for its characteristic brilliant aqua-green waters. The Commonwealth of The Bahamas consists of more than 700 islands, cays, and islets in the Atlantic Ocean, and boasts some of the clearest ocean waters on the planet, creating some of the most dazzling snorkeling and scuba diving in the world.
Driving east along West Bay Street, along the northern coastline, you'll approach the very familar estate with the pink house jetting out into the sea – one of the most iconic and picturesque locations of James Bond's Bahamas, Emilio Largo's estate, Palmyra.
