When Tony Blackburn took over the Top 40 from Simon Bates in September 1979, he brought a fresh sound to the Sunday Chart Show.
In came a new theme tune for the programme - The Theme from Firepower - its tight, repetitive phrasing working particularly well for Tony's end-of-show rundown.
