Solo Vosik, the Archpriest

Finally Vosik has been soloed!

The main thing that was stopping us from being able to solo him was the damage you need. In solo because you are spending so much time throwing the bombs to damage his shield you only have 3 phases before Vosik enrages (which is an instant wipe, by the way) and so to make this solo possible we would need to get around 1/3 of his health every phase.

The strat is pretty much as you see here, throwing 2 bombs every round to damage his shield by 1 bomb every time and using rockets and the two bombs you get for the damage phase with your damage being boosted by Weapons of Light and also using Force Barrier to be able to reload your rocket insanely fast.

Before the damage phases of phases 1 and 2 I would swap to Glasshouse to make my Weapons of Light last longer which helped with DPS and then I would switch to No Backup Plans to allow my Force Barrier to last for the duration of the damage phase and also allow me to shotgun enemies to activate it rather than using melee.

Because I am using rockets along with insanely fast reloads this obviously means I will be burning through my heavy ammo very quickly. I used a setup that would allow me to get the most heavy ammo possible. I would use the Taikonaut helmet which gives an increase to heavy ammo drop chance, combined with the wrath gauntlets which would also give increased heavy ammo drops from fallen enemies. On top of that I would also use a sniper with the perk Surplus. Surplus allows me to not only have increased heavy ammo drops, but also makes the packs that get dropped contain more ammo in them, which is again crucial for damage. As a side note Surplus affects all ammo and is not dependent on which slot it is in (so a sniper that has Surplus would drop not only increased special ammo but heavy ammo too).

Now you may be wondering why I am using a different account for this. The reason is because to do enough damage consistently I had to use a special rocket launcher called the Choleric Dragon with special perks on it. The Choleric Dragon can roll with a special perk called Disciplinarian which makes the rocket deal 10% more damage to fallen enemies, and since Vosik counts as a fallen, we found this rocket to do a considerable amount of damage to him which is why this is used instead of Gjallarhorn. The two other perks that the rocket has are Cluster Bombs and Tripod. Tripod isn't too important but clusters do lots of extra damage to Vosik (if all of them hit him that is), even more than Gjallarhorn's wolfpack rounds. All of these perks combined give around a 10-20% increase in DPS compared to Gjallarhorn. Now I would have been on my own account if this rocket was simple to obtain but you can only get the rocket from a heavy engram from the Cryptarch which is a low chance in itself and on top of that getting the 2/3 rolls that are needed is too insane for me to grind for! However, I was lucky enough to know someone that had the perfect rocket roll and they kindly let me use their account, so big shoutouts to Kacy for being so generous and letting me use his account for weeks so I could get this.

And finally, shank round. Yeah this in itself is the main run-killer. Vosik spawns waves and waves of shanks, some that can shoot at you and others that just charge at you and explode in your face dealing massive damage. They were a massive pain especially when throwing bombs because in that period you can't shoot, use abilities or do anything much to avoid them. The only thing you can really do is jump and use shields like Force Barrier and bubble. You would notice that before the shank damage round I swapped to the Helm of Saint 14. This allowed me to stun the exploder shanks if they entered the bubble which would reduce their threat level significantly during the last round of bombs in phase 3. After I placed the bubble with Helm on I could just switch back to NBP and the stun perk would remain for its duration.

I would like to give two shoutouts. Firstly to Vosik the Archpriest (not the boss lol the other one). I believe Vosik was the main person to come up with the general strat and I know he put a lot of work in developing it and sharing many tips with me along the way so a big thanks to him. And again shoutout to Kacyinix for letting me use his account for attempts!
