Halter Neck Ruffle Baby Top With Pleated Skirt Cutting and Stitching | Trending Very Easy Baby Dress

Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel! Today, I’m going to show you how to make a super cute Halter Ruffle Neck Baby Top with a Pleated Skirt. This trending baby dress is very easy to make, so let’s get started!

Materials Needed:

• Fabric (cotton or any soft material)
• Matching thread
• Sewing machine
• Scissors
• Measuring tape
• Pins
• Elastic band
• Ruler

Step 1: Cutting the Fabric

1. Top:
• Measure your baby’s chest circumference and cut a rectangle of fabric with the width equal to chest circumference plus 1 inch for seam allowance and height as desired plus seam allowance.
• For the halter neck, cut two strips of fabric, each about 2 inches wide and long enough to tie around the neck.
2. Skirt:
• Measure the waist circumference and cut a rectangle of fabric with the width equal to twice the waist circumference and height as desired plus seam allowance.
• For the pleats, ensure the width allows for equal pleats.

Step 2: Preparing the Top

1. Hem the top and bottom edges of the rectangle for the top.
2. Fold the rectangle in half, right sides together, and sew along the side seam to form a tube.
3. Attach the halter neck strips to the top corners of the tube.

Step 3: Creating the Ruffle Neck

1. Cut a long strip of fabric, about 3 inches wide, for the ruffle.
2. Hem one long edge.
3. Sew a gathering stitch along the other long edge and gather the fabric to create ruffles.
4. Attach the ruffle to the top edge of the tube, right sides together.

Step 4: Preparing the Skirt

1. Hem the bottom edge of the skirt fabric.
2. Create pleats by folding the fabric at regular intervals and pinning them in place.
3. Sew the pleats down to secure them.

Step 5: Assembling the Dress

1. Attach the pleated skirt to the bottom edge of the top, right sides together.
2. Sew along the edge to join the top and skirt.
3. Attach an elastic band to the waistline for a snug fit.

Step 6: Finishing Touches

1. Hem all raw edges and make sure all seams are secure.
2. Add any embellishments or decorations you like.
