We are continuing our trip to the North east coast of Scotland, but before we cross the border we stop off at 3 amazing places. Our first visit is to Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire. Iy was built at the start of the Industrial Revolution in 1784. It grew to become one of the largest cotton manufacturing business in the world. We then move onto Little Moreton Hall a wonky building, full of character built over 500 years ago for the wealthy landowner Thomas Moreton in 1504. Our final visit is to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Saltaire and Salts Mill built by Titus Salt in in 1853. The village of Saltire was built to house the workers at the mill. When it was completed it was the largest industrial building in the world. It closed in 1986 and was then developed by the entrepreneur Jonathan Silver to house shops, businesses and an are gallery featuring works by his close friend David Hockney.
