Spring 2024 on The Durango and Silverton

The changing of the seasons in the Colorado Rockies is not necessarily marked by the change of the solar seasons... Spring only truly comes to the Four Corners to some when The Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad begins its summer season to its namesake of Silverton. Join us as we venture once again along the narrow rails of the Denver and Rio Grande Western through the Animas River Canyon deep under the Purgatory Ski Area. We'll witness the daily train of The Silverton cross the Rio de Las Animas Perdidas both in Durango and Silverton, through the Hermosa Valley at Trimble Hot Springs and along the High Line and the World Famous Horseshoe Curve. We'll see K-36 480 along the line pulling train 463 and 464 and we'll see K-28 473 helping it out along the line. We'll also catch 476 in movie dress from the Kevin Costner movie 'Horizon', though not part one, but one as of right now we're still waiting for (come on Warner Brothers! Between not releasing the rest of Horizon and canceling 'Coyote vs Acme', yall are really starting to make me put you on my ish list)

So we'll leave the Yard Limit in Durango, where we don't have to worry about being Delayed in Block, Why? Because there's not Distant Signal, nor shall we see any diesels with V12 production built locomotives (the DL535's have 8 cylinder Alco 251's)
