REVIEW: 'Nevertheless: The Shapes of Love (Wakatte Ite Mo)' starring Yokohama Ryusei, Minami Sara
'Nevertheless' Korea starring Song Kang and Han So Hee is one of the most memorable K-dramas of late considering its very messy and twisted take on young adult romance. That's why when the Japanese adaptation starring Minami Sara and Yokohama Ryusei was much anticipated. Needless to say, calling the Japanese version an 'adaptation' should be used loosely.
From the melancholic tone to the artsy temperament of the cinematography, Wakatte Ite Mo is a raw yet soulful look into relationships beyond just romantic. It doesn't play into the intrigue of messy relationships like the Korean version, commanding its own appeal.
