Uncommon varian - spider boss
Life core - spider boss
Gold component upgrades - werewolf boss
The upgrade system works on a chance based system and upon failure your materials get used up and the item maintains its level and dosent improve. So do not worry about failing the upgrade as you can farm materials infinitely.
