How To Slow Stitch A Bear

I drew a body template that can be used to make many different animals. Just add a face and some ears. Free templates for the cat, bear, and bunny can be found here : http://nightowlcrafts.ca

To make it easy, I cut a standard sheet of felt in 4 pieces so no measuring required. They are just shy of 6” x 4.5” or 15cm x 11cm.

I used blanket stitch to attach the bear and the swirly background was created by couching down some cord. You can use yarn if you don’t have cord.

Background fabric was found at Walmart recently (Dec 2023).
