Mercerized vs Unmercerized Cotton

Cotton is a weaving workhorse, and for good reason. It's sturdy, it comes in a whole bunch of colors and sizes, and it's affordable. You may already know all of this. But did you know it also comes in mercerized and unmercerized varieties? I often work with unmercerized cotton, but I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to the mercerized version. So you know what this means: it's time to experiment! Join me as I share my (ahem, highly unscientific) comparison of mercerized and unmercerized cotton fibers. Happy weaving!
